The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) පවසනවා තමන් 100,000 bots ට වඩා වැඩි සමන්විතයකින් යුත් botnet එකක් පවත්වා ගෙන ගිය අයෙකු Ivano-Frankivsk අවටින් අත්වඩංගුවට ගත් බවයි. ඔහු මෙම විශාල Bot ගොනුව distributed denial of service (DDoS) ආකාරයේ මෙන්ම spamming වලට හා user credentials සොරා ගැනීම් කටයුතුවලට යොදාගෙන ඇති බවටයි පැහැදිලි කරන්නේ. කොතරම් සැගවී සිටියද Russian digital payment වෙතට ඔහු ලබා දී තිබූ සත්‍ය ලිපිනය ඔස්සේ මෙම පුද්ගලයා අත්වඩංගුවට ගැනීමට සමත් වූ බවට වාර්ථා වෙනවා.මෙම පුද්ගලයා අනාගත cyberattacks සදහා වෙබ් අඩවිවල දුර්වලතා රැස්කිරීමටද මෙම ගොනුව භාවිතා කර තිබෙනවා. එරට බලධාරීන් පවසන්නේ “Part 2 of Art. 361-1 (creation for the purpose of use, distribution, or sale of malicious software or hardware, as well as their distribution or sale), සහ Art. 363-1 (interference with the work of electronic computers (computers), automated systems, computer networks, or telecommunication networks by mass dissemination of telecommunication messages)” යන නීති පදනම් යටතේ ඔහුට විරුද්ධව කටයුතු කරන්නට සූදානම් වන බවයි.
